Ride Sheffield

()

Ride Sheffield is a mountain bike advocacy group based in (you guessed it!) Sheffield. As one of the UK’s leading mountain bike groups, they’ve been involved in a wide range of projects in areas including Lady Cannings, Grenoside, Blacka Moor, the Eastern Moors as well as being instigators of the fantastic Steel City Downhill race.

Cut Gate has been on the “to do” list for Ride Sheffield for a long time. Committee member Simon Bowns suggested a partnership with Peak District MTB to make a start, pulling in Chris from Keeper of the Peak to be part of the conversation. This little team led initial discussions with local authorities, land owners, management groups, user groups and local access forums. After that, the BMC rolled the project into their Mend our Mountains campaign, leading to where we are now.
